MoMo #9: Mobile Gaming

iPhone dominationI haven’t missed out on a single MoMo Amsterdam up to now. Already 9! The crowd and atmosphere were as usual very vibrant. The Rode Hoed on the Keizersgracht full up to the balcony, with young ‘mobilistas’ in their late 20s and early 30s, blogging on their MacBooks or twittering on their iPhone, amazing how Apple has now completely taken over the creative crowd. Quite a few G1 phones were also spotted, so this is not your average population in terms of market penetration. :-)

Interactive Rooms

Some time ago, I was impressed by  the Roomware project, an open-source initiative by a company called Alchemyst in Amsterdam.

The idea is to augment the reality of a room with virtual and digital stuff: Display the avatars of all people in the room, interact with the music being played by adding your wish or get information about the objects in the room by scanning your RFID-enabled phone along the objects.

The roomware server makes it easy to integrate the existing technologies and creating all kinds of interactions.
